Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of Your servant.

Prayer encourages faith.

While FBF was founded with prayerful consideration and on God’s leading, we did not originally see praying for others as one of our primary purposes.  We soon realized that growing faith and engaging intercessory prayer go hand-in-hand; you really cannot have one without the other.  Building faith requires an active prayer life that goes beyond your life and needs.  Soon, others were asking us to keep them and their loved ones in our prayers. Quite honestly, it seemed like the least we could do.  As those requests grew, FBF’s prayer list began.

It opens our eyes to the hand of God moving in this world.

Prayer is the cornerstone for all that we do.  In His Word, we are continually reminded–by those who have come before us–that drawing closer to God often starts with a heartfelt prayer.  Time in prayer cultivates a willingness to seek Him, while building trust that He knows where we are. It is through prayer that we often see God connecting lives and hearts together in the realm of kindness, support and thoughtfulness.

Prayers do not have to be long, formal or well-spoken.  God just wants access to your heart, including your concerns.

We do not want to mislead you into thinking we are praying saints, nor is there someone in FBF praying every moment of the day.  That is not who we are, nor what we advocate when it comes to prayer. In fact, we have moments where we can be plain absent-minded as we seek to live active and fulfilling lives.  We do not pray constantly–we aim for steadfast and consistent; rather, we trust God to guide our thoughts and prayers towards others as needed. We encourage a flexible approach to regular prayer supported by need, grace and love. FBF’s prayer list, in its ebb and flow, has become a natural way to remember others and cultivate more prayer-filled lives.  We hope that prayer will inspire you to seek God more in trust and discourse.

How to have FBF pray for you.

You can send a prayer request to FBF, and we will add it to our list of prayers. We will do our best to keep your request close in our hearts and thoughts, while praying that God’s will be done in your life and the lives of others.

I lift up my eyes to the hills–where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
